Mr. Carraway joined the firm in 2010, originally as a Law Clerk then as an Associate, and became a Shareholder in 2017. Based in the firm’s Raleigh office, his practice areas include workers’ compensation, civil litigation and municipal law in which he represents a variety of clients from the public and private sectors before the North Carolina Industrial Commission, State and Federal Courts, as well as in various forms of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. Mr. Carraway has successfully litigated complex injury and occupational disease claims before the North Carolina Industrial Commission at the hearing and appellate levels, as well as defended law enforcement officers and municipal law enforcement agencies in civil rights litigation before the United States District Courts and United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Carraway worked as a paralegal and clerk in workers’ compensation and civil litigation firms in Raleigh while attending the evening program at North Carolina Central University School of Law. While in law school he was awarded the Spes Bona (“Good Hope”) Award and inducted into the Turner Inn of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity.

Mr. Carraway lives in Wake County with his wife, two sons, and daughter.
